It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Joslyn Leequay, a dedicated representative of the Caribbean Network of Fisherfolk Organisations. Mr. Leequay’s commitment to the cause of small-scale fishers was evident in his active participation in various international gatherings, including the World Forum of Fisher Peoples (WFFP) General Assemblies in South Africa and Delhi.
Mr. Leequay’s contributions to the discussions at these Assemblies, representing the voice and concerns of Caribbean fisherfolk, were invaluable. His passion, dedication, and tireless advocacy for the rights and well-being of small-scale fishers will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.
